A Special RUCLID Nomination Was Established in a Child Contest Called “Life in a Global World”

The Russian Geographical Society and The National Committee of Cartographers of Russian Federation have just finished application acceptance process on the V Life in a Global World child drawing contest.

The contest is being held among children under the age of 16 and is organised to develop their creative skills as well as to improve their cartographical knowledge and to attract their attention to the problems of modern world.

A special nomination called “Cultural and Linguistic variety of Russia” was established in the contest to support RUCLID project. Contenders for win in the nomination should prepare a drawing about cultures or languages represented in Russia.

The winners of the contest will be defined in April and awarded on the special children drawing exhibition that will be held on 1st June and timed to the International Day of Children Protection.

Best works then will participate in the international version of Life in a Global World contest that will be organised in Paris in July, 2011, as a part of XXV International Cartographical Conference.
