Cultural and Linguistic Diversity of Russia Special Nomination Introduced at the Globalized World Drawing Contest to Support RUCLID

April 1, 2012 started the VI All-Russian Living in a Globalized World Drawing Contest for children. The Russian Geographical Community and the Russian National Committee for Cartographers became organizers of the contest. The Foundation for Assistance for Internet Technologies and Infrastructure Development (FAITID) supported the event as well.

The objectives of the competition – promotion of children's artistic creativity, creative representation of the world, developing of children's interest in geography and geographic maps, increased attention to environmental problems, environmental protection and it's proper treatment.

To promote RUCLID project FAITID introduced Cultural and Linguistic Diversity of Russia special nomination in the contest.

Every child under 15 years old can take part in the competition. To participate it is necessary to draw a picture on a paper with paints, pencils or ink, etc.

The contest results will be announced in April 2013. The best six pictures, selected by the jury, will be taken to the International Living in a globalized world Drawing Contest for children that will be held in memory of Barbara Pechenik during the XXVI International Cartographic Conference of the International Cartographic Association (ICA).
